What HR does for you

HR covers the working life of everyone at the company, from the application to the leaving date, and hands the right tasks to the right people along the way.

Directory and org chart

Job title, department, manager, employment type and start date for everyone, including contractors who never need to sign in. People without workspace access don’t use a paid seat.

Recruiting with a careers page

Open roles appear on a public careers page. Applications arrive as candidates in the role’s pipeline, and CVs are visible only to people with recruiting access.

Onboarding that reaches the right person

Checklists from templates, with tasks for a named colleague or the new hire’s manager. Each task lands on that person’s own task list, with a reminder when it’s late.

Leave and reviews

Leave policies that accrue on their own, requests that show the cost in working days, and review cycles with self, manager and peer reviews.

Time off that only HR can explain.

Approved leave shows on the team calendar and in Outlook through the calendar feed. Colleagues see that someone is out of office; only HR sees whether it was sick leave or parental leave.

  • Managers see their reports and teammates, not everyone
  • Requests show working days and the balance left
  • The approver sees who else is away that week

Leaving is a handover, not a loose end.

Ending someone’s employment asks who takes over their direct reports and open roles before it goes through. Their access is revoked straight away, and HR can reverse the termination for 30 days.

  • Reports and open roles reassigned in the same step
  • Access and sessions revoked on confirm
  • Reversible for 30 days, with an audit entry

Common HR questions

Does HR run payroll?

No. Payroll and benefits are not part of HR. Cyril keeps the employment record, leave, onboarding and reviews; pay stays with your payroll provider.

Who can see personal details like emergency contacts?

Only people allowed to edit HR records. Everyone else gets the directory without next-of-kin details, which are left out of what they receive rather than hidden on screen.

Where do employment contracts live?

In Legal. An employee’s profile shows each contract and whether it has been signed, read directly from Legal, for people with access to both.

Are there HR reports?

Yes, in Reporting: employees by department, starters and leavers, leave owed, open roles and onboarding progress. They need HR access on top of reporting access.
